Bio

My name is Jenna Powell. I am an aspiring English professor. I have spent my first 18 years in a small, rural town and have loved it, but I dream of living in a city when I am older. My top choices at the moment are Cincinnati, Columbus, or Washington D.C.. Reading and running are two huge portions of my life. Over the years I have gone from reading the Babysitters club, to One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. Running, even though I'm not the fastest, means a lot to me. It calms me down and gives my brain a boost. All of these things I mentioned add up to one thing: Me.

Things I Was A Part Of
Future Plans
Miami University
Ohio State University
English Teacher, or Professor, or Lawyer
One of my two college choices is Miami University of Oxford, Ohio. If I attend Miami, I plan to major in Integrated English Language Arts Education, with a possibility of a minor in Philosophy and Law. I would be a part of the pre-law track and I am applying to be a part of the Education, Health, and Society Leadership Scholars.
My other top college choice is The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. I would major in Integrated Language Arts/English Education, with a minor in either Legal Foundations of Society, or Judicial Politics. I am applying for the scholars program with the hopes of getting into the Humanities Scholars, the Advocates for Communities and Education Scholars, or the Politics, Society, and Law Scholars. I would also be a part of the pre-law track.
My interests have always been more humanities related rather than science or mathematics. As an English teacher, I could spread my love of literature to generations to come. I still have to choose if I would rather teach high school or college though. If I decide that I do not enjoy my education classes, or I really fall in love with my law related classes, I plan to go to law school. Law correlates with my passions for learning, researching, and helping people. Even though I have not fully chosen a career path, I know that one of these choices will be a great fit for me.
